Description
Returns true if geomA
overlaps geomB
.
Overlaps means that the two geometries:
- have some but not all points in common,
- have the same dimension, and
- the intersection of their interiors has the same dimension as the geometries themselves.
This function does not work on GEOMETRYCOLLECTION
s.
Implements the OpenGIS Simple Features Implementation Specification for SQL version 1.2.1.
This predicate does not yet support spatial indices, but it will in a future release. Use it in conjunction with &&
operator. See here for more details.
